Sexton describes Snow White’s lips as being like “Vin du Rhone” (5), which is a wine grown in the Rhone region of France. Although wines of various colors are made in Rhone, Sexton is alluding to a deep red whine since Snow White is described as having crimson lips. Sexton's use of wine as a simile not only appeals visually, but to the spiritous nature of the Wine. Wine is an alcoholic beverage and therefore can refer to an intoxicating affect of her beauty.
