LEARNING RESOURCE CENTER (LRC) - ENGLISH WRITING SUPPORT SERVICES
Located on the ground floor of the Emerson G. Reinsch Library Building, the Learning Resource Center (LRC) is a year-round academic counseling and learning center designed to support and enhance Marymount's instructional programs. Staffed by full-time learning specialists and by graduate and undergraduate peer tutors, the LRC provides tutoring assistance in writing, science, mathematics, and study skills for a broad range of courses.
The LRC also provides a variety of testing services for Marymount students including diagnotic tests, validation exams, and special accommodations for students with disabilities. All testing is by appointment only. Please call 703-284-1538, or e-mail us at lrc@marymount.edu.
All writing, however strong, can benefit from a careful readers response. In addition to feedback from your instructor and your classmates, writing assistance is available from peer tutors in the Learning Resource Center. LRC tutors can help at any stage of the writing process from getting started to final editing. They can help you figure out an assignment, overcome writers block, or discover your thesis. Remember, however, that tutors are not allowed to revise or edit students papers for them. All changes, revisions, or corrections must be your work. I strongly encourage each of you to visit the LRC at least once this term, and I may suggest that others go more often, depending on individual needs.
